Things to remember when designing and making Dark Eldar stuff
They are light and agile, so nothing with very heavy armour (i.e. maximum of 12 armour for vehicles).
They are fast (but there are some exceptions) so keep in design with the theme of your army.
Don't go overboard with equipment, weapons and rules. It just makes things more complicated and cheesy.
Consider the size of the vehicles you are making compared to the armour and weapons you are equiping them with.

Soul Reaper - a custom made vehicle
The Soul Reaper is a heavily modified reaver jetbike. It is a light scout, and takes up one slot in the 'Fast Attack' of the force organistaion chart. To see its stats click here.
Need
1 Reaver jetbike
1 Hellion
3 splinter cannons
1 extra armour plate for bike
Steps
Get the front of the jetbike and cut off the side spikes. Then glue on the first armour plate as normal (be careful of which armour plate you use).
Glue on the other 2 armour plates (make sure they are the same looking plates) on the underside rim of the first armour plate, be careful with the angles and looks. For extra support glue a bit of plastic to the underside as shown.
Use greenstuff to fill the holes and to possibly change the curve of the armour joints as well.
- The Hellion board can be stuck on either way (upside down or rightway up), use what you think looks good. I turned mine upside down. Drill hole in the now bottom for stand (if necessary). Glue the board onto the jetbike and use greenstuff to fill any gaps.
If you want you can add extras (like spikes) onto the board.
- Cut off the arms of the hellion, then glue on the arms from the jetbike rider. Be carefull of the angles.
Bend legs into shape so it can sit on the jetbike and cut/fill off the straps on the feet.
To reposition the hed either drill a hole in the back of the head and cut under the neck and bend the head back, or just cut the head off and glue it back on in the correct position. Use greenstuff to fill the gaps and fix the hair.
- The weapons you use are your choice. I uesd a splinter rifle suport from jetbike and stuck 3 splinter cannons on.
Different places for the weapons to go include under the front armour, on the board wings, under the middle of the board, and on top of the jetbike (where the splinter rifle normally goes).
Remember: This is a light scout, so a maximum of 3 weapons, ideally there should be only 1 or 2 weapons.

Haemonculus on jetbike
It is possible to make this with other haemonculi and arm/weapon combinations, what you use depends on how you want it to look like.
Need
1 Haemonculus with destructor (any Haemonculus will do)
1 Reaver jetbike - assembled any way you like
Steps
- First, cut off the haemonculus legs below its ass.
Get the legs from the jetbike rider and pin them on seperately. Remove some of the thickness from legs to make the haemonculus look thinner.
Then use greenstuff to make the clothes look right.

- Bend the arm with the scissorhand (or other arm if you want) into position to grab the bike handle.
Either bend the hand around to garp the handle or cut off the hand and replace with a hand from the jetbike rider.

Decapitator, Mandrake Champion
You can make this using any of the Mandrake models althought some work better than others.
Need
2 or 3 Mandrakes
extra heads and/or spikes (optional)
Steps
- Choose which mandrake body you want to use. It has to have room to add the extra arms on.
Also choose which of the arms from the other Mandrakes that you want to go onto this model. You can use arms from other models if you want.
Remember that the model needs a splinter pistol and some weapon that looks like it could decapitate someone. The other arms could be holding combat weapons or a severed head. Note: the decapitator weapon does not have to be one handed. It could be held in two hands or be two weapons that work together.
- Cut off the arms that you chose from the other Mandrakes. If you do this neatly you can stick on other arms and still be able to use these models.
If you wanted to you could also use the head of one these models instead of the one already on the body that you chose.

- Think about what pose you want the model to have. Then move the limbs that are connected to the body into position, the other arms come later.
For mine I decided to rotate the head and legs so that the model appeared more front on. I also moved the right arm (the one with the splinter pistol) more out to the side and lower.
- Now come the other arms (and the head if you decided on a different one). You will need to file and cut the arms and the body so that they make a nice fit. Then pin the arms on.
For the left arm I had to shape the upper arm into a wedge shape so that it would fit under the arm that was already there. I also had to file/cut away the thumb and create a new one using green stuff because I was using a righthand side arm as a lefthand side arm. For the right arm I had to cut/file away part of the shoulder on the body so that it would have a nice flat fit.
- Finally add any extra spikes and severed heads, then use green stuff to fill the holes and to add any extras that you want, like gruesome talismans.

Decapitator, Mandrake Champion
A Conversion By Trevor McLean
Materials Required:
2 to 3 Mandrakes
1 Dark Eldar Warrior torso
3 Heads (preferably plastic)
1 Dark Eldar Warrior Head, or Raider Driver Head
1 to 2 chains (possibly from Reaver Jet bikes)
Lots of small spikes (from warrior sprue)
Dozer Blade parts (From Imperial Vehicle Upgrade Sprue)
Thread
Needle-Nose Pliers
Superglue
Wire Clippers
Sharp Knife (Exacto Blade)
File
Drill (electric or pin-vice)
Steps
- The Head: Using the clippers cut off the crest of the Warriors Helmet, and file it to make it round. Take a few small spikes, and separate them into individual spikes. Glue them around the base of the head, and over the top of the head.
- The Torso: Snip off part of each shoulder pad on the Warrior torso, and soften the edges with a file. Cut off the torso of the Mandrake with the legs you plan to use, and glue the Warrior torso on to the legs.
- The Decapitator (Weapon): With the clippers, cut off all the dozer blades, and remove the serrated edges with the knife. Glue the blades together following the picture, and then glue the composite blade on to the blades of a mandrake arm.
- The Arms: Cut off four arms from the mandrakes with the clippers. Keep one arm with a splinter pistol, and three with blades. Glue the arm with the arm with the decapitator (weapon) high on the warrior torso, and an arm with a blade under it. On the other side of the torso, glue the splinter pistol arm high on the torso, and an arm with a blade under it.
- The Trophy Rack (Severed Heads): Separate a Jet Bike chain into two parts with the clippers. Select a drill bit with a diameter a little larger than the chain, and put it in the drill. Make one hole through each of the heads, and slip them on the chain. Glue the heads into place. Bend the end of the chain into a loop with the needle-nose pliers. Glue the trophy rack to the shoulder pad, or waist of the Decapitator.
- Gruesome Talisman (Eyeball): Cut off a small, cylindrical piece of plastic from part of the dozer. Using a file, shape it into a sphere. Paint it white, and when it dries, paint a small dot for the eye. Cut a medium size piece of thread, and glue the eye to the middle of it. Tie the talisman around the neck of the Decapitator once you have finished painting him.

Webway Portals
- Opening - It can be activated in the shooting phase instead of moving and/or shooting that turn (you can't fleet of foot). Units may not move on top of the blast marker, but skimmers are allowed to fly over it. The portal can be activated from a Raider as long as the Raider (and the character) didn’t move that turn. Place the blast marker on the ground touching the Raider but as close to the character as possible. The rest of the unit may still move, shoot, fleet of foot as long a unit maintains coherency.
- Re-entering - Units may re-enter a portal the same way as embarking into a transport vehicle (i.e. you can consolidate into the portal). Models once off cannot come back on (doesnt matter how many portals or reserves).
- Two or more portals - Roll a die for each unit that is allowed to come on to see which portal they come out from. They may re-enter through any portal.
Painting Tips
Wych flesh
You can use an undercoat of either black or white. I used black. This is followed by a base coat of a light grey colour.
Once dry this was gone over with a black wash (I just use watered down black paint).
The same grey colour is used for highlights followed by a small amount of white for the final highlight.
Painting gold
When painting gold, a silver undercoat will help bring out the brightness. A brown wash will give it a more bronze look.
